The 10 Video Games That Should Be On Your Holiday Wish List

“This is one of those years where the number of games I want far outweighs the number I could possibly afford.”

As some of you may know I’m a Big Fat Video Game Nerd and resident geek. I’m also an obsessive video game collector and I rarely complete my games. I’ve spent a lot of time mulling over this list of games and I really wanted to make it a top ten but I don’t think I can. Depending on your taste in games and your budget it’s just too hard. Between trying to pay my bills and have an active social life gaming can some time be a very expensive and impossible hobby to keep up with. This is one of those years where the number of games I want far outweighs the number I could possibly afford. Lucky for me a lot of these triple A games have been spaced in a way to at least allow me to get my personal top 10 this year. So here are the Ten Games I recommend every serious gamer try to pick up or wish for Christmas. The games outside the top ten are noteworthy and can easily fill in any spot on this list for you given your taste or the console and systems you own. These will keep you well occupied until a new crop pops up. Also as a foot note I’m excluding Nintendo Wii U games because I won’t be able to get one until next year because they are sold out and for many serious gamers such as myself that may also be the case. May not be able to get one until sometime next year. I could have easily turned this list into a very long article but I’ll trust in my fellow geeks ability to use Google and YouTube if they want any additional info on any of the games listed below. There are a lot other games coming out this holiday season especially for you rare Wii U owners.  If it’s on my list especially my top list I feel really passionate about it.

In no particular order:

Borderlands 2 – September 18, 2012 For every System – I own this bad boy on PC
Torchlight 2 – September 20, 2012 PC Only – I own on Steam
Pokemon White & Black 2 – October 7, 2012 – DS Only – Owned
Assassins Creed III – October 30, 2012 X-box and PS3 November 20th for PC – I wanted to wait for the PC version but I couldn’t wait and got it on Xbox
Halo 4 – Xbox 360 Only – Picking up my copy Tuesday and I’m so excited
Paper Mario: 3DS – November 11th 3DS only. Got my Copy paid for.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II – Every system is getting this. Got my reserved for X-box just because that’s where my friends play
Dishonored – October 9, 2012 – Want it really badly on PC

Resident Evil 6 – October 2, 2012 PS3 and X-box PC not getting released until 2013 bummer asking for PS3 Version for X-mas

If money is really no object and or you disagree with any of the games listed above or you just don’t have the console they appear on feel free to sub in any of the games below. I also recommend any of these games to keep you busy until even more games come out next year and there are a load of those to look forward to as well. Look for my 2013 games to watch for list after Christmas. Almost all the games listed below are out already and are multi system releases. The MMO’s near the end are PC only and I feel only one PS Vita Game is worth mentioning.

Darksiders 2 – August 13, 2012
Sleeping Dogs – August 13, 2012
Skyrim Expansions – Currently Out
Madden NFL 13 – August 28, 2012
Forza Horizon – October 23, 2012
Medal of Honor: Warfighter – October 23, 2012
Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth – October 30, 201
Lego Lord of the Rings November 13 – Pre Paid
FIFA 2013 Soccer – 25 September 201
Need for Speed: Most Wanted – 30 October 2012
