The Walking Dead Season 4 Preview
It’s almost here!
It’s time to stock up on survival supplies because “The Walking Dead” Season Four premieres on AMC on October 13, 2013 at 9/8c. It’s been a wild ride for the entire cast of “The Walking Dead” as well as for Robert Kirkman, who is celebrating the graphic novel’s 10th anniversary with issue #115.
We all had mixed feelings about the Season Three finale. I’m still bugged by Andrea’s death, but it’s about time we put that behind us and start anew. It’s only been a few months since the season ended, but this summer, “The Walking Dead” crew surprised us with an awesome and extremely suspenseful trailer at SDCC’13.
We’re still a month away from the premier, but you can tell this season will be a game changer for “The Walking Dead.” There’s even been speculation going around about the possibility of the walkers “evolving.” Personally, I’m doubtful about that happening, but “The Walking Dead” is just around the corner, and the internet is exploding with previews, teasers and outrageous predictions.
Whether you believe the word on the street or not, you are guaranteed some suspense this season. Producer Gale Anne Hurde said earlier this year, “we are going to amp up the threat of the walkers, because they’ve started to seem like a manageable threat. They are not a manageable threat.” Right on point.
“The Walking Dead” gang will be experiencing a whole new range of difficulties. The trailers suggest there will be a breach in the prison and somebody baiting the walkers. Yes, definitely the walkers pose a threat to our beloved characters, but it’s larger than that. What I love about this show is that it is so human. We explore the lives on people in a zombie apocalypse. Technically, the zombies are just a plus. Robert Kirkman addressed the topic by saying that, “The show is about these characters. And the zombies are present and they will always be a threat…”
Personally, I would like to get an inside look into life in the prison. Yes, we saw Woodbury, and yes it was a working community, but am I the only one who was left intrigued by the finer details of the community? The preview suggests there will be a couple of scenes with Carol teaching kids how to properly use knives, and I’m hoping we’ll get more on that aspect of life at the prison.
What about the death toll? The trailer hints at one, but I won’t blow the lid off for you guys if you haven’t picked up on that yet. I know we’re close to a great season. In the meantime, if you’re in the Florida area, AMC announced The Walking Dead’s return to Halloween Horror Nights! The cast themselves went and did a trial run of the event, and it is cast approved. For those of you unable to make it, there’s never a bad time to rewatch the show!
